House of Commons Library research is used and respected by MPs of all parties. We're looking for an experienced editor to help make sure our written research is consistently accessible, clear and readable.
You will work closely with authors to help shape the team's priority written content. You will be expected to copy-edit to ensure that this content follows the style guide and is clear and accessible. You will help authors draw out the key points, while maintaining balance and often work on several publications in a week, and to short deadlines.
You will also be responsible for managing the style guide and support the researchers with training and advice to help them use the guidance effectively and apply it to their work.
We are working to improve the accessibility of our research content to make sure that it meets the needs of all our readers, and is inclusive and representative of the diverse communities that MPs represent. You will play an important role in this, sharing your knowledge of writing for the web, search engine optimisation, alternative formats and the needs of diverse audiences.
