Powerful and compelling internal communication is a driving force in the recovery of the Trust and our return to achieving our For Everyone, For Ever strategy. As an Internal Communications Manager in our team, you can be part of the internal communications network that's making it happen.

Our internal communications approach is about connecting colleagues and promoting the voice of our people, bringing the vision of leaders to life and vividly telling the stories of success that are the heartbeat of the Trust.

We're part of the Communications & Marketing directorate and in our work we connect with every part of the organisation. As Internal Communications Manager you will have a fantastic opportunity to shape the way we communicate with the thousands of staff and volunteers who do so much to look after the National Trust's beautiful places and spaces.

This role is all about being accountable for the successful implementation and roll-out of internal communications plans and creating engaging compelling content to inspire and engage our colleagues.

If you're creative, full of energy, have a love of all things internal communications and engagement, and like to test and learn, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

You'll be an important part of the wider internal communications network.

Working alongside a Senior Internal Communication Manager you'll have a number of strategic areas and projects to support. Using both current and innovative approaches, you'll provide tactical internal communications to engage our people and ensure that messages are delivered in the most effective way to the people who need to hear them.

No day is ever the same at the Trust, so you'll need to multi-task and manage multiple projects. You'll be great at building relationships, offering advice to leads on internal communications issues, from crisis comms to long term programmes of work

  • is full of energy and passion for delivering brilliant communications, with a positive 'can-do' attitude
  • high levels of creativity when working at both a strategic and tactical level
  • a team player with a collaborative approach
