Content Specialist - Materials Science


Job Description

Our client are a global leader in Engineering Simulation Software and are looking to hire a training content specialist for their materials data managment technology. This will include
resources for classroom-based training delivered to customers as well as self-teach learning resources such as videos. The Training Content Specialist is a key member of a positive, dynamic team of content specialists who create user assistance for their products.


  • Independently create and own the training materials including PPT slide desks, exercise booklets, Quick Reference sheets, and supporting example files.
  • Create and maintain multi-media training assets (including courses, videos, audio, quizzes, demonstrations) from which trainees can self-teac
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Developers to ensure that training content incorporates the best workflows and newest features of our products
  • Actively engage with the ACE team to understand and prioritize their training content requirements and to promote training best practices
  • Upload and maintain training content in our online repositories in a consistent manner with other assets
  • Develop new and engaging learning experiences: evolve and modernize training assets; continuously improve the learning experience; design, develop, and maintain content style

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in physical science, with emphasis on materials science
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering software environment or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in use of relevant Granta software or other commercial software (can be obtained or partially obtained in a university setting)
  • Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English
  • Experience in delivering technical training or in the development of instructional content
  • Preferred qualifications
  • Masters or PhD degree in materials science and engineering discipline is preferred
  • Experience in GRANTA MI, GRANTA Selector, or GRANTA EduPack is strongly preferred
  • Experience with creation of multi-media assets, e.g. video and audio recording, is preferred
