To lead and manage a team
Taking the lead in recruitment and selection of new staff to the team.
Developing performance targets and quality control measures for the work of the team, and monitoring team members' work to ensure that these are met.
Ensuring good communication between staff by holding team meetings regularly, and additional briefings as necessary.
Develop and deliver a Press & PR strategy for the charity, ensuring it meets the needs of the organisation and is aligned with the organisational strategy.
Liaise with your line manager, other managers in the team and work directly with CEO and senior colleagues
Manage a Press & PR budget
Develop plans to support existing PR projects with fundraising and campaigning teams
Working with the Strategic Communications Planning Manager, evaluate the opportunities of press and PR activity supporting our growth across different regions in terms of services but also campaigning andfundraising.
Develop an approach which makes best use of the resources available to maximise coverage and which also identifies where further resources may be required.
Ensure our press and PR work reinforces the fact that we are not solely a London provider through the materials we prepare and the opportunities we pursue.
A demonstrable track record in developing and implementing a successful Press & PR strategy and /or communications plans
Experience of managing staff, budgets and the delivery of objectives
Experience of working in journalism or public relations
Experience of managing crisis communications
