IT Delivery Lead


Job Description

Our IT Delivery Teams are responsible for managing and delivering IT projects across the National Trust working cross functionally with operational teams delivering both strategic projects and key IT objectives within the business. Our team of professional and committed project managers, officers and co-ordinators work hard to deliver business benefits through a range of projects from infrastructure to systems replacements, application upgrades to security improvements. Working with a wide range of technologies and people both within IT and across the organisation, we work in cross functional teams to deliver business benefits for the National Trust.

As a Delivery Lead for one of the two Delivery Teams within the IT Department you will lead a group of Project Managers delivering projects across the portfolio, with responsibility for maintaining the high quality of project management through delivery, governance, and assurance. You will also be working with Operational and Support teams to drive delivery.

Salary: £49,566 - £52,730 dependent on experience

***This post is contractually based at our offices in Swindon but is currently working remotely. There will be an opportunity to explore and agree remote working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. As a guide presence in the office is expected 2 days per week***

As a Delivery Lead you will line manage a team of Project Managers and project support staff. You will be mentoring and supporting the team working closely with the Head of IT Delivery to ensure projects are delivered, highlighting priorities and progress and quality controlling assurance standards and resource planning.

You will be part of the IT Extended Leadership Team, working collaboratively with other leaders in teams across IT and a key stakeholder within the IT project community of practice.

You will monitor capacity and work with the Head of IT Delivery on how we meet the demand of our future pipelines and help develop a model where we can expand and contract to meet the business's needs.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and coordinate teams building a positive team climate
  • Broad experience of programme, project and portfolio management processes and practices (both traditional and agile), including governance and risk management
  • Excellent relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills with extensive experience of managing expectations and engagement with stakeholders at all levels in an organisation
  • Strong experience of financial, budget and resource management
  • A collaborative, self-motivated, multi-tasking, and organised individual
