We are looking to appoint a brilliant Technical Content Author to create engaging and user friendly content for both technical and non-technical users of our flagship product, EMIS Web. You'll work closely with a range of teams including our development, clinical design and release teams to understand the new features, enhancements and bug fixes that are developed within our Software so that you can describe them to our customers ahead of their upcoming releases; we'll also look to you on how guidance of how we do this whether it's digital,PDF or through our EMISNOW platform.
As we work in an agile environment, there will be new releases requiring content at the end of every 2 week sprint, and it's therefore essential you are used to working at pace whilst ensuring all content is grammatically and factually accurate aligning with our brand guidelines, tone of voice and audience.
Thinking outside of the box is key to this role and we'll give you the opportunity to use your creativity to research, understand and adopt new and different ways of creating user facing content to maximise customers self-learning experience and support them in understanding changes to their systems.
Please note this is a remote role but you may be required to travel to one of our collaboration hubs from time to time (Leeds/Bolton).
The team you'll join
You'll join our Software Delivery Team reporting into Kevin, Senior Software Delivery Manager and working alongside our 3 Software Delivery Managers and another Technical Content Author. As part of this role you'll receive a thorough induction including going through the training our users go through, meeting people who use our software whilst being supported by a variety of teams at EMIS.
What you'll bring
These are the skills and experience you'll need to set yourself up for success in this role, however we'd still love to talk to you even if you don't tick all of them.
- Prior experience in the production of online content/technical documentation or training materials
- Excellent command of the English language both written and spoken
- Strong organisational, communication and planning skills
- Methodical with strong attention to detail
- Any Software Development knowledge would be highly beneficial whether that be from previous experience writing within an IT/Tech team or another role within tech.
