The Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) is the regulator of most newspapers and magazines in the UK. We are recruiting a Training and Engagement Officer to join our growing and friendly team.
Reporting to the Head of Standards, this is an exciting new role supporting IPSO's engagement with its regulated publishers. To be successful you'll need to be articulate and efficient, with excellent communication and analytical skills, and an intelligent interest in the press and how it is regulated (although not necessarily any special expertise in this area).
You'll also have excellent written skills which you will use to design and develop IPSO's online training offer. Strong project management skills are a must, and you'll also need to be comfortable working with digital projects.
With responsibility for designing and implementing a new induction programme and supporting IPSO's journalist advisory panel, you'll also need to be an organised and effective administrator, able to manage multiple pieces of work and be able to present complex information in clear and creative ways.
This would be an interesting next step for someone working in communications, or in a membership or education role and looking for a purpose-driven, varied, and interesting role where they could see a clear impact from their work.
There is a competitive starting salary of £30-32k and there are also 25 days of paid annual leave.
IPSO offers hybrid working and private GP service to all staff and a range of benefits including season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme, and free gym membership (once probation is completed).
IPSO is committed to the promotion of equal opportunities within the organisation, including in recruitment, through the way we manage the organisation and provide services to the community. Candidates are encouraged to complete the Equal Opportunities Monitoring form (below) and enclose it with the application.
