Job Description

Our leading Utilities Giant based in Warwick has an exciting new role on behalf of our client, supporting their media and content team. We are looking for an outstanding writer who can take complex information and translate it into fun and engaging content. This will include newsletters, articles, blogs and social media posts.

Job title: Media & Content Executive

Contract: 6 month FTC, scope for longer term extensions or an opportunity to progress to permanent with the end client

Location: Warwick, CV34


You'll be part of a busy press office and will be confident taking media enquiries, drafting basic responses and knowing when these need to be escalated urgently. You'll enjoy working with senior managers to draft speaking notes and talking points and supporting them with their media activity. You'll also be responsible for the team's reporting and day to day tasks.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fun and busy multi-disciplinary team and you'll gain loads of experience across a variety of areas, so a can-do, proactive attitude is a must.


* Handle media enquiries and draft responses for sign off, escalating where urgent and/or serious
* Create news items, blogs and other content for use across all business channels
* Draft internal and external newsletters
* Discover stories from across the business and turn them into compelling content or press releases
* Prepare briefing notes, talking points, background papers to ensure all spokespeople are well-prepared ahead of any media interaction or speaking engagement
* Support with imagery, including uploading brand imagery to platform and downloading images when required
* Keep a log of media enquiries and responses
* Provide media summaries and cuttings reports
* Maintain a communications grid for Corporate Affairs, ensuring all activity is captured and opportunities to share content across channels are maximized
* Organise media training and media collateral, such as headshots, when required
* Participate in 24/7 duty press officer rota


* Educated to degree level
* Excellent writer - a writing test will be given at interview - with the ability to write for different audiences
* A team player who is keen to learn
* Good attention to detail
* Organised with the ability to prioritise workload
* Lots of energy and enthusiasm
* Previous media experience is desirable
* Ability to film and edit video would be an advantage
