Executive Producer, Capital XTRA

Reporting of the Role

This role reports to the Capital Brand Managing Editor


Overview of job

The Executive Producer works across the day to day output and operations of Capital XTRA, working closely with the Capital Brand Managing Editor. You'll build phenomenal relationships with presenters and producers, and will be instrumental in driving the station forward. You'll be a great music scheduler, super passionate about the music that Capital XTRA plays and champions. You'll ensure that our output is always of the highest standards across all of our broadcast and digital platforms.

Measures of success -

In the first few months, you would have

  • Started to build great relationships with Capital XTRA presenters and producers
  • Contributed and helped drive exciting creative planning sessions
  • Scheduled some fantastic sounding music logs
  • Worked with the brand digital team to help deliver amazing content for Capital XTRA on our social platforms
  • Helped devise and implement exciting commercially branded content


Responsibilities of the role

  • You'll be managing and mentoring the presentation and production team to a high standard.
  • You'll coach and develop existing talent, and help us to discover and develop talent for the future.
  • You'll be utilising your creativity to devise and implement unique and topical ideas for the station.
  • You'll have a keen eye for creating great PR for the station.
  • You'll know and love Capital XTRA, you'll know exactly what our target audience loves, their music preferences, their lifestyle choices and you'll put this understanding at the heart of our programming.


What you will need

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • You'll have at least 2 years experience in a senior producer role
  • You'll have amazing organisational skills, and be able to handle a fast paced workload
  • You'll ensure all aspects of broadcast law, compliance and the broadcasting code are enforced and adhered to.
  • You'll be a proficient music scheduler, and will be familiar with RCS products Selector and Zetta
  • You'll work hand in hand with our brand digital team to ensure the station delivers great content across our social platforms
  • You'll help to manage the on-air schedules, ensuring EPG systems are accurate.
  • You'll deliver creative solutions for clients to optimise revenue and audience growth whilst staying true to our core brand values.
