A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change - with individuals, in communities, across society - and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.
About the role
The challenge here is to develop and improve our approach to film and animation and enhancing Shelter's overall digital presence. Your main focus will be on creating high-quality films using motion graphics and animations across our digital properties to ensure our users have a greater insight into what is one of Scotland's biggest social issues . That means developing film, animation and associated media for use across Shelter's owned and earned digital channels, including coming up with creative concepts, filming, sound recording, editing and post-production. Identifying new opportunities to enhance and improve our use of digital media will important too, as will ensuring all film content is audience-focused, effective, on-brand and accessible. And, when it comes to supporting and empowering other parts of the organisation to make best use of film, animation etc. as part of their communications portfolio, again, we'll count on you.
Your relevant track record has given you a sound knowledge of creating and manipulating vector graphics/illustrations for animation and a real confidence in your creative and technical abilities. What's more, you work with real enthusiasm, approach every project with a positive attitude, thrive under pressure and always strive to produce great creative work, even to tight deadlines. An in-depth knowledge of After Effects, Final Cut, Illustrator and Photoshop (or similar) is essential, as is a good understanding of the various applications of post-production in creating video from still and moving assets. Familiar with different brand guidelines and with examples of work produced using these (Please include your portfolio as a link in your application), you're incredibly persistent, but also open to feedback and debate.
