RPS is aleading global professional services firm of c.5,000 consultants and serviceproviders. We are now looking to appoint an experienced and high calibreCopywriter - Communications and Content with agile working but within easyreach of our Birmingham office.

As aCopywriter you will sit within our marketing team supporting our UK and IrelandConsulting business. The team provide end to end marketing support to thebusiness and the role will be required to scope, develop and optimise contentto support marketing campaigns.

Ourmarketing team support a broad service offering including; planning andapprovals, environmental consultancy, design and engineering, project andprogramme management and health safety and risk. Our sectors include property,energy, transport, defence and government, water and resources.

The role:

As aCopywriter with RPS, you will be producing content to support the delivery ofeffective marketing campaigns, writing for a range of digital channelsincluding the company website, social media channels, industry forums, clientfacing materials and the company intranet. This will mean you'll need to beadaptive and flexible to adopt different styles whilst ensuring that allcontent aligns the campaign objectives and our company tone of voice.
The rolewill have a focus on thought leadership articles but also include newsarticles, press releases, web copy, video storyboards, case studies andpromotional materials.
This is anexciting place to be and the team works in a fast-paced environment and oftenis required to turn around content to tight deadlines.

Duties andresponsibilities

Reportingdirectly to our Senior Marketing Manager, you will work closely with seniorstakeholders and technical experts across the business to develop compellingcontent for a range of marketing campaigns.

Keyresponsibilities include but are not limited to:

Research anddevelop content to support marketing campaigns, working closely with themarketing manager to align messaging with campaign objectives
Work closelywith technical experts for content input, develop thought leadership articlesfrom initial brief right through to finished article, undertaking subjectmatter research when required.
Identifyinteresting and fresh angles to tell our story in an engaging way every time
Understandthe target audience and tailor content accordingly
Aligned tocampaign objectives, seek opportunities for coverage within media and managepress relationships
Seek outstories that support business objectives, liaising closely with the businessfor project wins, award wins, people news
Reviewsocial media comments, mentions and press cuttings to spot issues andopportunities
Develop copyfor the website, video storyboards and other marketing materials

About you:

You will bea confident, enthusiastic self-starter with excellent written skills and acreative mindset looking for a role that offers great variety and careeropportunity.
Core to therole is the requirement to develop content across a wide range of industrytopics, often interpreting technically complex subject matters to createengaging and easy to understand copy. You will need to be confident to engageand work with technical experts at all levels to develop content, from initialbrief right through to finished article. You will also need to be curious and keento learn about industry issues, trends and business topics.
You willalso need to have a keen understanding of how to tailor copy for differentchannels and to target different personas.
Skills andexperience

As asuccessful applicant, you will most likely have gained significant experiencewithin a consulting, professional services or construction organisation in asimilar role.
Understandingof what makes highly engaging, easy to read content
Previousexperience of writing in a variety of formats including thought-leadershiparticles, press releases, social media posts, bulletins, web content, whitepapers - journalistic experience would be a bonus
Enthusiasticand a self-starter - able to work on your own initiative to suggest ways totake a topic and tell a story across different channels and for a variety ofaudiences
Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise withcolleagues at all levels, displaying a high level of professionalism
Excellentattention to detail and proof-reading skills
Must be ableto come up with creative concepts and write original copy
Have passionand enthusiasm for the role and learning about the wider business
A teamplayer and collaborator and provide input as required
Must be afast learner and able to work to tight deadlines
Flexible andadaptable to changing situations, as well as the ability to re-prioritiseaccording the business needs
Experiencein B2B professional services / consultancy is desirable
Experiencein planning and development industry is desirable


Educated todegree level
Relevantindustry qualifications preferred
