Job Description

Our next Senior Development Manager will be somebody who comes from either a commercial or project management background and has experience in driving business growth on a national scale, has excellent stakeholder management and must be able to handle multiple projects at any given time. The idea candidate will preferably have experience in land acquisition and development.

Who you are?

You will be somebody who comes from either a commercial or project management background. Your experience in driving business growth will have been gained working on a national scale. Used to being field based your excellent stakeholder management will go hand in hand with the ability to handle multiple projects at any given time. Your experience will ideally have been gained in land acquisition and development, though other relevant sectors considered if you are able to demonstrate the above skills

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with the Chief Business Development Officer you will be tasked with delivering business growth in the organisation through identifying, assessing and the expansion of opportunities. This will include but is not exclusive to land acquisition, development & acquisitions d existing sites. This role is not predominantly office based and will involve extensive travel throughout the UK, therefore there is flexibility on your location.

Role will involve

Identify suitable locations/land for development opportunities

Appraisal of potential acquisition opportunities

Market & competitor analysis to understand external business environment, e.g. key competitors, developments in technology and economic drivers

Build, maintain & expand relationships with key contacts, e.g. land agents, landowners, stakeholders and key industry contacts

Manage multiple projects, working with a wider team, including; contractors, project managers, funders and other professional advisors to ensure efficient delivery of the development programme.

Report accurately against budgets

*This role is field based and does require extensive travel throughout the UK.

Strengths & Qualifications

Essential

Minimum 4 years' experience in a faced paced commercial

Strong project management skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong Negotiation skills

Financial awareness/budget management

Negotiation skills and Problem solving

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Full Driver's License with ability to travel regularly

Desirable

Industry specific experience

Experience in a corporate environment

Land acquisition and/or development experience a strong advantage

Advanced computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
