The Brilliant Club is an award-winning charity that exists to increase the number of pupils from underrepresented backgrounds progressing to highly-selective universities. We do this by mobilising the PhD community to share its expertise with state schools. We recruit, train and place PhD researchers to work with state schools: either part-time as tutors through The Scholars Programme or full-time as classroom teachers through Researchers in Schools (RIS). In 2018/19, The Brilliant Club worked with over 700 state schools and 13,000 pupils across the UK.
The Brilliant Club is planning to be a provider for the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) to support the national catch up effort in England following school closures in response to COVID-19 and have submitted a bit to the Education Endowment Fund. If successful, The Brilliant Club is looking to recruit a Head of School Partnerships to drive partnerships with schools and networks across the UK. This is a new role with national oversight to ensure we work to support as many pupils as we can through The Scholars Programme and our Brilliant Tutoring Programme (BTP).
This external facing role will involve networking and building relationships with senior leaders across the education sector. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record of building relationships with schools to reach strategic targets. Whilst much of this role is external facing, the role will also advise on work, led by the School Partnerships Officer, to ensure our customer relationship management system (Salesforce) is set up to serve a wider range of partnership types. As a leader within the team, there may be opportunities to share best practice, offering training and support where capacity allows.
As this is a new role, the successful candidate will help shape our processes around national partnership building and approach them in innovative and creative ways to provide impact for our pupils.
The Brilliant Club exists to increase the number of pupils from underrepresented backgrounds progressing to highly selective universities. We think it is important that our charity reflects the lived experience of our beneficiaries, and we want to be an organisation where employees from any background can thrive. We particularly welcome applications from disabled, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans including non-binary (LGBTQ+) candidates, and candidates from low income families. These groups are currently underrepresented at The Brilliant Club and we are committed to increasing representation and diversity at the charity.
