We are currently looking for a Panel Vice Chair to take the lead for our Fostering Panel in Scotland.
We are currently seeking to appoint a Panel Vice Chair for our Fostering Panel in Scotland and welcome applications from candidates with a background and knowledge in one of the following areas, education; health; the police force; probation; foster caring and care experience of young people.

In line with our values, we expect the Panel Vice Chair to ensure that all decisions are made with regard to the interest of 'children in care', foster carers, and the community in which they live.
As a Panel Vice Chair, you will need to be able to attend a virtual Panel one day a month.
As Panel Vice Chair your responsibilities will include:
- Chairing panel meetings, when required, ensuring that all items of business are covered and that the panel operates in accordance with Regulations and the policies and procedures of the agency.
- Co-ordinating and directing the work of the Fostering Panel and in ensuring the quality of foster carers recruited meets relevant standards.
- To be involved in the recruitment and appointment of new panel members and in any consideration about terminating the appointment of a panel member.
- To safeguard the confidentiality of all panel papers and panel discussions.

The Panel Vice Chair will receive £150 per panel. In the absence of the Panel Chair the Vice Chair will be expected to deputise and will therefore receive £300 per panel.
The Panel Vice Chair role is an 'office holder' and a Standard Disclosure Scotland clearance is required, which will be undertaken by TACT on your behalf. If you are a practicing social worker, you must have current professional membership to the relevant social work body.
