Global leader in business information and knowledge sharing are looking for an experienced business development manager, with strong experience negotiating complex sponsorship deals in a b2b conference or exhibition setting. The ideal candidate will have worked for a b2b media organisation, commercial conference company or publisher and have experience securing large-scale sponsorship deals across a range of international conferences. The position is to lead a small team of event sales professionals selling on a lucrative portfolio of conferences in the finance and investment space.
- To secure sponsorship and exhibition deals in line with revenue targets, and maintain a strong pipeline of new and upcoming business - Generating new business, qualifying sales opportunities and target market/clients - Developing key accounts and existing client relationships, identifying and converting opportunities to cross/up-sell - Producing quality proposals and contracts to aid the sales process, providing innovative and complex solutions based on client needs - Working closely with internal teams including, production, operations and marketing to ensure efficient and smooth delivery of events - Building an expert understanding of market, trends, clients and competitors - Attending key competitor events
- Minimum 2 years SpEx / Exhibition / Sponsorship sales experience (essential) - Experience of managing a team (desired) - Making high volume outbound calls, engaging with senior decision makers - Generating leads, winning new business and developing client accounts - Converting new business with high calibre and insightful proposals - Personal drive to exceed targets and excel in a business setting - Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
