The Role

We are seeking an experienced Digital Content Editor to work in our Editorial, Design & Digital team, with a focus on writing, editing and publishing content for the FCA website and our other digital channels.

This includes working in a team of content editors while also dealing with other members of the E&D team, internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

We work in a fast-paced communications environment, managing multiple projects and stakeholders, working to tight deadlines and striving to deliver high-quality content and digital channels every day.

What does the role involve? What are the key responsibilities?

The post holder will:
  • be confident with writing and editing digital content, content management systems, SEO,analytics and social media
  • take technical information and turn it into useful digital content for readers, using excellent stakeholder management skills to ensure it is clear as well as accurate
  • be able to advise colleagues on the appropriate channel(s) to use, and be enthusiastic about promoting digital best practice and a focus on user needs
  • have great attention to detail and organisational skills, managing several projects at once and meet strict publishing deadlines
  • also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to form successful and productive working relationships with colleagues at different levels of the FCA

Skills/Experience Required

  • Previous experience of digital content delivery
  • Experience of using content management systems
  • Experience in Editing


  • Proven experience of creating and delivering content that puts the needs of our diverse users first
  • Superb writing and editing skills, and expertise at turning complex, technical language into a clear, concise copy
  • Experience using content management systems (experience with Drupal a bonus) and recommending enhancements
  • Effective stakeholder engagement, relationship management and influencing skills
  • Experience in obtaining and reviewing feedback from subject matter experts
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, maintain schedules and meet deadlines
  • Sound judgement, effective decision-making and problem-solving, and able to demonstrate personal accountability


  • Confident verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using Google Analytics or other analytics platforms, setting up dashboards and analysing data to report it to colleagues and internal stakeholders
  • Experience of publishing to social media channels like LinkedIn and Twitter, and analysing how content performs on these
  • Able to write requirements for website development and carry out user acceptance testing (UAT) during development sprints

  • The salary range will be approximately 25,000 to 35,000 GBP plus a competitive benefits package and non-contributory pension
