Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in Content Writing/SEO. Working closely with the SEO Manager, this role will assist in delivering SEO content for specialist holiday brand Hayes & Jarvis.

The candidate will use existing knowledge and experience to create engaging content that adheres to Google E-A-T guidelines, in order to grow organic visibility, traffic, and leads.

Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibility will be to create engaging content that helps improve online organic visibility and increase sessions to the website, including:
  • Writing new SEO-friendly copy for pages
  • Optimizing copy on the website (page titles, meta descriptions, H1s, alt text, anchor text, etc.)

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Carry out keyword research to support optimisation of pages
  • Conduct on-page SEO analysis on a regular basis
  • Conduct competitor analysis
  • Work with internal stakeholders to create the best possible content for customers, suppliers and search engines
  • Keep up to date with the latest SEO and industry news and technology

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills
  • At least one year's experience in writing online content
  • Knowledge and experience of Google algorithm and guidelines
  • A good understanding of other aspects of SEO
  • Experience with keyword research and tools such as Google AdWords
  • Strong time management skills
  • A good team player who is also content to work alone
  • Demonstrate a willingness to take initiative & own responsibilities
  • Attention to detail
  • The ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines

Desirable Skills:

  • BA degree in Marketing, English, Travel & Tourism, or Media
  • Experience using a CMS, particularly Drupal

Additional Notes:

This is a 6 month fixed term contract and we require someone on a full-time, 37.5 hour week basis. We can offer flexibility to be homebased or work from our Crawley offices. We are looking to fill 6 positions. Salary dependant on experience and pro-rata for the duration of the contract. Start dates ASAP so please apply today.
