Paybase was founded in 2016 and is a fully licensed as an Electronic Money Institution by the FCA. Our mission is to raise the bar of what payments can and should do and ultimately change the way businesses interact with payments by turning them into a competitive advantage.
We're a highly motivated, close-knit team of just under 20 people, with vast experience across technical solutions, design and marketing, operations and compliance, and business development and management.
As an experienced copywriter, you are interested in financial technology and innovation in the payments space. You are looking for an opportunity to join a team of smart and passionate people working on a product that has large scope for disruption rooted in cutting edge technology.
You're an entrepreneurial, creative and passionate copywriter with experience in the financial services/payments sector. You'll relish the opportunity and have the confidence to own all written content across all Paybase channels. You'll own the Paybase editorial calendar and have experience of producing exceptional content in a startup environment. Your words will inform and engage our target audience.

Write clear, attractive copy:
Create long and short-form copy (thought leadership pieces & blogs)
Repurpose and edit existing copy
Produce copy for adverts (both digital and print)
Produce press releases
Produce email marketing campaigns, speeches, and any business related documentation
Produce exceptional copy for marketing material
Produce SEO-friendly copy and content in line with the brand style, acting as a custodian of the Tone Of Voice to ensure consistency across all channels
Use SEO principles to maximize copy's reach (keywords search, links, section titles, etc.)
Ensure the correct tone of voice is applied to all copy
Distil complex products/problems into simple and clear copy
Conduct thorough research and interviews
Interpret copywriting briefs to understand project requirements
Collaborate with creative professionals such as designers, PR and other professionals on large- and small-scale marketing projects (e.g. email campaigns and landing pages)
Edit and proofread copy as needed
Be proactive in suggesting new content ideas and sourcing content from third parties
Write clear and concise UX content for web and mobile (interaction flows, emails, notifications, navigations etc)
Mentor more junior members of the marketing team
Propose ideas for best content to reach and appeal to our target markets
Consistently position our brand in a way that matches our tone and identity
Offer creative input into illustrations that may feature in eBooks, articles, flyers etc. Manage relationships with graphic designers
Proven experience as a copywriter or related role
Knowledge of online content strategy and creation
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
Experience with SEO
Strong research skills
Excellent time-management and organizational skills
BSc/BA in marketing, English, journalism (or related field) or equivalent years of experience
Previous experience of working in the Financial Technology and/or Payments industry is a bonus
Startup experience required
