Job Description

This is an opportunity to join AME Trade Ltd, one of the leading event organisers on the African continent. We organise more than ten conferences/exhibitions each year, in the mining, oil and gas, and finance and infrastructure sectors.

We are currently looking for a motivated and experienced Sales Executive (Events) to sell sponsorship and delegates passes in the portfolio of Conferences and Financial Events.

The role include

  • Selling Sponsorship and Delegates Passes associated with portfolio of events
  • Exceeding agreed revenue targets for each event
  • Research, Identify and close new business
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified leads
  • Researching new potential leads and identifying new prospects
  • Able to travel internationally on occasion
  • Possibility to grow and career progression

Key Competencies Required:

  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed
  • Proven Sales Skills
  • Ability to communicate, convince and persuade
  • Fluent written and spoken English and preferably another language Portuguese or French
  • Proven ability to interact with senior decision-makers
  • Understanding of target markets and unique selling points
  • A track record of minimum one - two years in media sales or sales in a related field
  • You should have a basic knowledge of emerging markets countries geography and politics
  • A dynamic person who can develop quickly to manage their own projects and teams
  • A person with initiative who can develop their own sales leads and clients
  • A passion for selling and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to anticipate obstacles and find effective solutions
  • Must be available to travel and open to working in developing countries
  • Enthusiasm for learning and ability to quickly grasp new ideas
  • Ability to quickly recognize the issues and respond appropriately
  • Educated to at least graduate level
  • Persuasive and determined to achieve results
