BBC Worldwide’s portfolio of franchise and genre brands exist to extend the enjoyment of global audiences’ favourite programmes and includes the longest running sci-fi TV show in the world Doctor Who; the world-renowned entertainment format Dancing With The Stars which has over 50 international versions; the most successful motoring entertainment show in the world Top Gear, which has been sold to over 220 territories; and the leading factual umbrella brand BBC Earth, which amplifies landmark natural history titles such as Planet Earth II as well as overseeing live events, web activity and giant screen experiences associated with the brand.
The Production Manager EMEA is responsible for the planning and delivery of Campaign and Non-Core projects across BBC Worldwide’s EMEA portfolio for CEMA and Northern Europe.
The Production Manager will be responsible for devising and managing campaign budgets and complex timelines. This role will require strategic approach to implementing workflows and identifying better ways of working. The Production Manager will be required to mentor and oversee Team Assistants and freelance production staff.

Job Requirements:

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY
Accountabilities
  • To manage the day to day production for Campaign and Non-Core projects. 
  • To forward plan the pipeline of work across the portfolio and to communicate changes in plans to relevant teams and stakeholders.
  • To manage project budgets, conducting timely reconciliations with the Head of Production and finance teams. To oversee all financial responsibilities within assigned budgets working in SAP, raising and tracking POs.
  • To work with external agencies and freelance producers, ensuring that timelines are managed and communicated, that budgets are transparent and accurate and that completed projects are delivered to the relevant specifications.
  • Work closely with the Head of Production in project planning and appropriate resource management (additional Freelancers both creative and production/additional facilities).
  • Alongside the Head of Production scope, budget and provide timelines for both non-core and campaign work (including Central reversions).  Manage the production of this work from start to finish.
  • Reconcile and monitor complex budgets and costs reports accounting for expenditure and report any overspends.
  • Devise & monitor detailed production workflows and systems and constantly strive to improve them.
  • Provide statistical information to the Head of Production when required
  • Establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acts as a support for the Production team as well as being an escalation point.
  • Strategic approach to workload & the ability to prioritise efficiently whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong production management experience in media.
  • Experience of managing a rebrand including budgeting, managing the teams/agencies and delivering kits to air.
  • Experience of managing budgets in excess of 100k Experience at a Production Manager level within a Broadcast on air team.
  • Experience in putting together complex timelines in Excel, live tracking and communicating consequences of changes to a variety of relevant parties
  • Experience of devising and refining detailed production workflows & procedures.
  • Experience of managing location production shoots.
  • Familiarity with broadcast standard equipment and post production procedures.
  • Ability to use proficiently a range of software packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP and the aptitude to learn new software packages where required
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and sensitivity
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team
  • A flexible approach
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative
  • An interest in and enthusiasm for the work of Worldwide Channels
Professional Experience
  • Experience of working at Production Manager level, ideally within Creative department.
  • Experience of planning, managing and reporting complex budgets.
  • Experience of devising and refining detailed administrative procedures.
  • Experience of managing location production shoots.
