A fantastic position has just become available to be the Advertising Director of FourFourTwo. The world’s best cross platform football media brand is looking for an ambitious, driven sports sales specialist who can work with clients at a senior level to develop creative partnerships.

Dealing with football sponsors across all categories the successful candidate will relish doing high-value deals which rely on creativity and an acute understanding of the varied elements of FourFourTwo’s media mix. Web, print, video, social and events are all key elements of our brand offering which you will be expected to monetise.

You will directly manage a key account manager and work in tandem with central agency teams, International Account Directors, Regional sales teams and creative solutions delivery teams.

This role is responsible for FourFourTwo’s revenue generation across all platforms and the successful candidate will look to play a key part in that through their own personal revenue contribution as well as being a great manager and teammate to the wider FourFourTwo team. 

Goal

To maximise revenues and profits for FourFourTwo.


Scope 

• You are responsible for maximising profitable business revenues across all media platforms. This includes display advertising, sponsorship, special projects and new business opportunities via direct client work and with your client's relevant agencies.
• You are the UK commercial figurehead for FourFourTwo both externally and internally.
• You will plan and execute sales strategies to deliver sustainable commercial returns from the client base. 
• As Ad Director for one of the biggest brands in Haymarket your input and insights will help lead the commercial strategies for the wider group.

Responsibilities:

Personal Sales

• Client base – Working at a senior level across a core client direct patch, focused on high-value partnerships predominantly in Europe and the UK but also with the opportunity to generate revenue from Global deals and working on our recently launched US site.
• Contact levels - Lead the sales strategy across the client direct team including annual contract negotiations, troubleshooting where necessary and identifying new business opportunities via effective contact with clients and agencies at a senior level.
• Market Profile – create and maintain an unrivalled media profile within your market through attendance at conferences, shows, events etc ensuring you are seen as a consultative expert for football brand partnerships.
• Knowledge - possess a comprehensive understanding of your market and yours and competitor products and positioning within. Understand your clients’ business, (client and agency) key objectives and business drivers.

Business Management 

• Revenue Generation - ensure the products and staff for which you are responsible deliver maximum revenue from your market/s in line with budget and forecast expectations. 
• Identify new revenue opportunities and execute plans to successfully deliver additional revenue and profit from your market.
• Sales Reporting – produce regular sales performance reports for your Business Director. These should include market share performance, revenue reports and sales activity reports 
• Budgets - work with Business Director to produce annual budgets for all products within your market/s. Identify areas for development and/or rationalisation & understand the business implications. 
• Ensure that budgeted costs and revenues are adhered to/delivered
• Forecasting – produce accurate weekly and monthly forecasts and explain any key variances.
• Sales tools – create the best sales tools for your products. To include research, presentations and media packs

People Management and Development

• Staff Management - coach, develop and motivate the key account manager who reports directly to you. Provide support to them but allow them the headroom to develop. 
• Work in tandem with the agency and International teams towards achieving FourFourTwo’s commercial objectives.
• Manage your manager - manage upwards effectively. Manage expectations and over-deliver, not under-deliver.
• Time management - prioritise your workload and create realistic deadlines. Ensure effective division of your time. 

 

Job Requirements:

This is a role which requires someone who:
• Can demonstrate an excellent understanding and proven experience in both advertising and content solutions at a senior level
• Possess strong digital sales skills
• Well-organised and meticulous in planning and reporting
• Able to identify new opportunities and be able to react quickly taking into account what our competitors are doing
• To be seen as a creative thinker by clients and colleagues
• Able to lead from the front and play a prominent role with clients
• Sports marketing contacts and sports related sales experience highly preferable
• Proven experience of cross-platform media sales 
• Capable of strategic thinking and being focused on achieving the business objectives
• Resilient and able to think through the challenges of a market that are constantly evolving
• Reliable and shows good attention to detail
• Strong presentation skills
• Experience of sales planning, implementation and execution
• Be entrepreneurial in your thinking and show a creative flair for meeting client briefs.
• Always strive to do what’s ‘best’ for your clients and audiences in whatever interactions with them you may have
• Able to provide reports to senior management and present at board level
